As Dangerous Guests, the collective TUN&LASSEN becomes a disruptive presence in public space. They explore how social and societal differences take (physical) form and create space for negotiation: What happens when, instead of polite indifference, dissent, conflicts, and negotiations suddenly become visible and tangible? When there is a reason to get more involved, to take action? Do we dare to engage with strangers? How can diverse groups be brought into contact and relation with one another so that differences and conflicts can be better endured?
As Dangerous Guests, the four performers approach habitual ways of perceiving and shift the choreographies of everyday life. Through dance-based maneuvers, they engage in negotiations—both playful and serious—with one another and their surroundings. Using physical, playful, subtle, and bold approaches, they seek out opportunities for negotiation and friction. In doing so, the Dangerous Guests become symbols of those who claim public space and raise their voices to spark discussion and potential change. They navigate the boundaries of polite indifference, revealing the possibilities for democratic expression that public space offers.
