UNINVITED HOSTS

situational spaces for contact, interaction & performance

The UNINVITED HOSTS invite, without ever having been invited themselves. They have time, stroll around, and join in. Charming and audacious at the same time, they seek contact and invite rearrangement: bodies, gestures, glances, and perspectives. Thus, they swarm thru public space and ask: with what attitudes do we occupy, share, or negotiate space?

The format opens situational spaces for contact, interaction, and performance for and with public space thru dance-performative tools. It questions the relationship between public urban space and the (bodily) postures with which we consciously and unconsciously communicate within it.

The format is designed in such a way that random counterparts and also invited audiences find space in this event. Using the welcome card, people are invited to test questions, game rules, and maneuvers at the scene, which also serve as motivation for the Uninvited Hosts.

Between the performance times and even before, the performers appear unexpectedly at various locations of the Landesgartenschau – among others, in the West entrance area, at the Platz für das Wir, and around the Hammfeldhof.
